Thank You, Thank You

Thank You to everyone who came to our Grand Opening.
I was so happy with such a great turn out and the nice comments from everyone. It was truly a great evening. So good to see some old faces that we haven't seen since Bellevue days. I love our new location and hope you do to. Pictures to follow soon.

Petite Retreat

Today was the first petite Retreat vintage market. Soooooo fun! The barn turned out so darn cute (of course). I found lots of treasures and even a couple for me. Debbie and Bob did an amazing transformation of this barn. Rooms filled with goodies with the retreat touch. This is the only picture my camera let me take, but there will be lots more on their blog. And of course we ran into some of my favorite people there as well. They are open until 4:00 today which means you have about 33 minutes to get there. They will be having another in May so stay tuned.

Hudson's 3rd Birthday.

This weekend we celebrated our grandson Hudson's third birthday. He insisted in having a green birthday so his mom went way out on the green thing. We are not sure why he wanted a green birthday but it was a theme to go on.
Dino the clown came riding up the street on his unicycle to great all of the kids at the party.
He was full of tricks and games and made everyone participate, including grandma's. He was kind of strick, so that meant no talking!

Little brother Grayson wasn't too interested in the party, but just wanted to ride on Grandpa's shoulders. My poor husband could barely walk when he got home just from chasing this little one around.

Of course green cupcakes! The party was great and still can't believe how fast the last 3 years have flown by.

A Much Needed Day Off

Yesterday, my friend Cindy and I took a drive up North and our first stop
"Christensen's Nursery". Always a treat to visit their gift shop run by our friend Linda.
As we walked in, we ran into Deb and Bob from Retreat having a day off as well. Christensen's carries our line of Rendezvous Candles along with lots of other finds. Here is just a sampling of their gift shop.

It was such a nice sunny day, not warm but sunny. It really puts you in the mood to garden.
Unbelievable choices for the yard.

As we pulled out I had to take a picture of the daffodil fields. Now we are on our way to the Linden gift and antique show. Cindy and I use to do this show long ago, back in the beginning stages of our businesses. We met Trish from Grandiflora probably about 10 years ago. She along with her sister and mom have a beautiful shop in downtown Linden. Here she is at the show with her vintage goodies.

After the show we of course had to stop for dinner at this quaint little Italian restaurant for old times sake. When we were in the show I think we ate there every night. Still as good as ever.
Sometimes it is hard to make the time to have a day off, but so glad I did. I feel much better today!

Need a little chihuahua?

My chihuahua breeder just sent these pictures over for their 2 little females that are available.
So darn cute, I don't dare go see them.
This one must be related to our little buddy, same face.
Well.... if you think you need one, just send me an e-mail, and I will connect you to the breeder

The Love of Cherry Trees

This is my favorite time of year when all the cherry trees are in full bloom. I have a beautiful one in my yard with pink blossoms covering the walkway. Did you know....

The plantings of cherry trees originated in 1912 as a gift of friendship to the People of the United States from the People of Japan. In Japan, the flowering cherry tree, or "Sakura," is an exalted flowering plant. The beauty of the cherry blossom is a potent symbol equated with the evanescence of human life and epitomizes the transformation of Japanese culture throughout the ages.
For those of you who live in Washington, the above picture was taken from the University of Washington. These Japanese Cherry Blossoms are a half century old and are in full bloom. If you are in the area, take some time to visit the campus.

A Preview of Kirkland

Here you go.... a small preview of the Kirkland Store. The perfect setting for Haley's Cottage.
Small street lined with Cherry Trees, cute boutique shops, and Cactus Restaurant right next door. We are officially open and loving it. All our neighbors are so welcoming so we couldn't ask for a better location. We will be having our official Grand Opening tentatively on March 17th.
We choose a very relaxed feel. Lots of linen and burlap, and of course Bella Notte Linens.

My poor little puppies are just pooped from all the moving. Now they have to walk quite a distance in the morning as we have to park at the Kirkland Library. It may take some time for them to get use to the new location. They miss our Mill Creek neighbors but are making new friends. Donna from Lady D's came over yesterday to visit and they were very happy to see her and she was very happy to see them as well.
It's a bit hard to see, but Carol from Gatherings helped me quite a bit and built this incredible door in the far background. This girl has tools!! We are waiting to put the big knockers on so it looks like a door. I will be sharing on the process of staining the door later.

One of our cute little cubbies for vignettes.

Here is a sampling of one of our cute t-shirts

That is it for now. Can't wait for you to see the store. Come by anytime except Mondays. That is my official day off. Our hours are 11:00-6:00 Tues-Saturday and 12:00-5:00 on Sunday.
More to follow on our Open House.
