The 4th of July in Hawaii

My son and his wife and babies are visiting our relatives in Hawaii over the 4th, so I thought I would check to see what goes on in Hawaii and here you go.
Dubbed Turtle Independence Day, these endangered natives are set to be "herded" at 10:30 a.m. from saltwater ponds where they've been raised.

There are supposed to be "paraded" to the beach, whereupon they'll be released into the wild.

Mauna Lani has received baby honu from Oahu’s Sea Life Park Since 1989 and has raised them in the saltwater ponds of the Mauna Lani Bay.

There, they are watched over until growing large enough for release into the wild. The release occurs on or about every July 4th at the ocean’s edge.

Then there's live entertain, an educational display and July 4th barbeque.

And NO TURTLE SOUP!
Wish I was going!
